🌕 Under the Same Moon
A Hong Kong Mid-Autumn Festival Creative Lunch
📅 Saturday, 19 September 2026
🕧 12:30pm–4:00pm
📍 Yi-Ban, London Docklands
Come gather Under the Same Moon for a warm and joyful afternoon celebrating Hong Kong’s Mid-Autumn Festival traditions through creativity, food, stories and connection. 🏮🥮
Inspired by nostalgic Hong Kong Mid-Autumn celebrations, this family-friendly cultural experience invites adults and children to slow down, get creative and discover the meaning and stories behind one of Hong Kong’s most loved festivals.
🐇 Make a Traditional Hong Kong-Style Rabbit Lantern
Create your own nostalgic 兔仔燈籠 (rabbit lantern), inspired by the lanterns generations of children have carried during Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong.
Learn about the Jade Rabbit 玉兔, lantern traditions and the childhood memories associated with celebrating Mid-Autumn under the full moon.
At the end of the day, light up your handmade lantern and take it home to enjoy throughout the festival. 🏮
🥮 Create a Mooncake Keepsake
Design your own adorable mini mooncake keepsake to turn into a keychain, bag charm or magnet.
The round mooncake represents the full moon, completeness and 團圓 — togetherness and reunion.
Unlike the mooncakes we’ll eat, this one is yours to keep!
❄️ Make Two Snow-Skin Mooncakes 冰皮月餅
Get hands-on and make two snow-skin mooncakes to take home.
Roll, fill, shape and press your own mooncakes while discovering the story behind this modern style of mooncake closely associated with Hong Kong.
Keep one, share one — because Mid-Autumn is better together. ❤️
🥢 Gather Around the Table
Creativity is only part of the experience!
We’ll also sit down together to enjoy a festive sharing lunch with dim sum and Mid-Autumn-inspired refreshments at Yi-Ban.
After all, at the heart of Mid-Autumn Festival is 團圓 — gathering together with the people around us.
